Connecting to a Sage 50 Canadian edition company
These instructions are only for Sage 50 Canadian edition
Connecting to a Sage 50 Canadian edition company:
- Click the Logicim XLGL ribbon tab, then click Connect. The connection panel will open on the left of the window.
- Click New connection, then Sage 50 Canada.
- Verify the filename and path to ensure you are connecting to the correct company. By default, Logicim XLGL will try to use the last company file opened by your system to setup the connection for you. Compare this connection file path to the one in Sage 50. To do so, in Sage 50, click the file menu, then "properties".
- To change the company file:
- Click "browse".
- Navigate to the SAI file of the company you want to connect to, and
- Click "open".
- Rename your connection, for example to clearly identify different company files.
- Set the username. By default, it is "sysadmin.". You can change it to another user configured in your Sage 50 company file. If you do not have any users configured in Sage 50, just leave "sysadmin". As needed, complete a one-time user configuration to assign it third-party rights. To do so, in Sage 50:
- Click the setup menu.
- Click "set up users and roles".
- Select the user you wish to configure and click "modify user".
- Look for the "Rights with third-party products" section. To utilize Logicim XLGL, give "read-only access" or "read-write access." Click "ok," then click "close."
- Enter the user password if one is set. If not, you can leave it blank.
- Click "connect" to open the connection. The red light beside the connection name will turn yellow, then green when the connection is established.
- Congratulations! You are now connected to your Sage 50 company file!
