How are coupons generated in the Platform Plan?

Coupon handling ensures fairness, transparency, and efficiency when converting serial numbers or purchasing Platform Plans. Logicim applies clear rules to optimize savings and prevent misuse.

1. Coupon for Converted Serial Numbers

  1. Coupon amount is based on the expiration date of the serial number.
  2. Expired serial numbers do not receive a coupon.
  3. The coupon amount is calculated using the following formula:

Formula:

amount = (Plan price × License count) × Months left to expire

Example Calculation:

  1. Plan price = 13.99
  2. License count = 3 licenses
  3. Remaining days = 45 days (~30 days ≈ 1 month)
  4. Months left to expire = 1.5

amount = (13.99 × 3) × 1.5 = $62.96

This coupon applies on renewals until expiration or until the balance reaches $0.

2. Coupon for Adding Licenses

  1. Adding licenses generates a prorated coupon.
  2. Coupon value depends on days passed since last renewal.
  3. Ensures payment only for remaining days in the billing cycle.

Example:

  1. Product price = 13.99
  2. Added license = 2 licenses
  3. Renewal cycle = 30 days
  4. Days passed = 10 days
  5. Days remaining = 20 days

Calculation (based on monthly):

Prorated coupon = (13.99 × 2) × 20 / 30 = $18.65

This means the user pays $18.65 for the two added licenses until the next renewal date.

3. Coupon Retention on Conversion

  1. Converting a serial number to a Platform Plan retains the active coupon.
  2. Retention applies even if license count changes afterward.

4. Coupon Use and Replacement

  1. Using a new coupon triggers a warning that the existing coupon will be replaced.
  2. Once replaced, the new coupon applies on future renewals.
  3. Only one active coupon is allowed at a time.
  4. A prompt is always shown before replacing an existing coupon.

5. Coupon Types

Percent Coupon (%)Applies monthly until expiryAuto-applies on renewals until expired
Amount Coupon ($)Works as credit balanceAuto-applies on renewals until balance reaches $0

6. Special Rule

  1. Using a new coupon always replaces the existing one.
  2. System checks for existing coupon and prompts before replacement.
  3. Coupon can be used on future renewals until it expires or balance reaches $0.
