Unlock more value: transitioning from traditional software licensing to the SaaS model

Moving from a traditional serial number license to Logicim’s new Platform Plan is more than a licensing change. It is an opportunity to gain more flexibility, scalability, and long-term value.

Why convert to the new Platform Plan?

With the new Platform Plan, users can benefit from:

  1. Simplified access with no more serial numbers
  2. User-based sign in for easier account management
  3. Flexible plans that can grow with business needs
  4. Automatic conversion of remaining subscription time into credits

Before You Begin

Before converting to the new Platform Plan, make sure the following information is available:

  1. Current serial number
  2. Number of licenses
  3. Subscription expiry date
  4. Preferred Platform Plan option: Personal, Business, or Enterprise

Step 1: Review the Current Subscription

  1. Sign in to your Logicim account.
  2. Visit Renew Update Subscription page or the Profile page under Serial numbers tab.
  3. Select the Serial Number you’d like to convert.
  4. Click Renew.

Step 2: Choose the Best Platform Plan

  1. On the Renew page, click Renew button.
  2. The system will recommend the right plan for you:
  3. Personal Edition with 1–2 licenses → Personal Plan
  4. 2+ licenses → Business or Enterprise Plan
  5. Click Renew to continue.

Any remaining subscription time is automatically converted into a credit.

Example: If there is 1 month remaining on the current serial number license, that remaining time is shown as a discount during checkout.

Step 3: Complete Checkout

  1. Complete the purchase using the preferred payment method.

Step 4: Start Using the New Platform Plan

  1. Go to the Profile page under Platform Plans once the purchase is complete.
  2. Review the active Platform Plan.

Once the new Platform Plan is activated, the previous serial number license is retired.

Tips for a Smooth Transition

  1. Inform team members that access will now use user accounts instead of serial numbers
  2. Make sure all users are using a compatible version of Logicim XLGL
