Logicim's ready-to-use Sage 50 US Payroll Check Register
Introduction

Prerequisites
- Sage 50 US edition
- View other prerequisites in the Requirement section here
What the Report Does
The Instructions worksheet provides Start and End date fields in cells C8 and C9 and tells you to click Refresh on the XLGL ribbon after entering the dates. The Report worksheet displays the company name, the Payroll Check Register title, the selected period, and detail columns for Reference, Date, Employee Name, Pay Type, Amount, Pay Hours, and Pay Amount. The workbook also includes a Chart worksheet with Monthly Payroll Expenses and Total Compensation Breakdown: Regular, Salary, and Overtime Earnings.
How to Use the Report
1) Enter the start date in C8 and the end date in C9 on the Instructions worksheet, then click Refresh on the XLGL ribbon.
2) Select Report or click Go to Report... to review the payroll check detail for the selected period.
3) Review the Grand Total on the Report worksheet when you need the payroll total for the selected date range.
4) Select Chart or click Go to Chart... to review the monthly payroll and compensation breakdown charts.
Customization Options
You can change the Start and End dates on the Instructions worksheet to review a different payroll period. You can also use standard Excel sorting, filtering, formatting, and copy options for review work. For structural changes, use the customization link on the Instructions worksheet or contact Logicim, because the workbook evidence does not establish safe formula or layout changes.
Common Use Cases
- Review payroll checks issued during a selected period.
- Compare payroll check detail by employee and pay type.
- Review pay hours and pay amounts together before payroll analysis or management review.
- Use the Chart worksheet to summarize monthly payroll expenses and the compensation breakdown.
Troubleshooting
- If the Report shows an unexpected period, check the Start and End dates in C8 and C9, then click Refresh on the XLGL ribbon.
- If the company shown at the top of the Report worksheet is not the company you expected, connect Excel and XLGL to the intended Sage 50 US company before refreshing.
- If expected payroll checks are missing, confirm that the selected Sage 50 US company has payroll check activity within the date range entered on the Instructions worksheet.
- If chart totals do not match your review period, refresh the workbook after changing the dates and compare the Chart worksheet with the Grand Total on the Report worksheet.
