Do I need to reinstall anything when I transition from traditional licensing to the SaaS model?

Good news — in most cases, you won’t need to reinstall anything when moving from your current Logicim Serial Number setup to the new Platform Plan. We’ve designed the transition to be as seamless as possible so you can focus on your work, not on technical steps.

How the Transition Works

  1. No Fresh Install Required – If you’re already on a newer version of XLGL, you won’t need to reinstall. You’ll simply sign in with your new user account instead of entering a serial number.
  2. Automatic Updates – Once you’re on Platform Plan, updates and improvements are delivered automatically — no more downloading installers or managing patches.
  3. Smooth Transition – Your old serial number will be retired and replaced with secure, user-based access.

When a Reinstall Might Be Needed

If you’re using an older version of XLGL that doesn’t support the Platform Plan, you’ll need to install the latest version before making the switch. Don’t worry — our support team will guide you through the process and ensure your transition is smooth.
