Aged receivable 

The Aged receivable Report tracks outstanding invoices by aging them based on a selected date. This Report provides visibility into overdue amounts, helping manage cash flow and prioritize collections. It also includes visual breakdowns for quick analysis. 

Prerequisites

  1. Logicim XLGL version 5.0 or higher 
  2. Microsoft Excel 2016 or higher 
  3. Familiarity with Excel PivotTables 
  4. Sage 50 US edition (2021 and above) 

What the Report does

The Aged Receivable Report enables you to: 

  1. Track outstanding invoices: View unpaid invoices categorized by aging periods. 
  2. Choose aging method: Select whether to age invoices by Invoice Date or Due Date
  3. Analyze trends: Identify patterns in receivables over time using built-in charts. 
  4. Visualize data: Includes three key charts: 
  5. Receivables breakdown by aging period 
  6. Monthly aged receivables trend 
  7. Top 10 aged receivables by customer 

How to use the Report 

  1. Open the Report workbook. 
  2. Go to the Instructions sheet. 
  3. Set Parameters: 
  4. Enter the As of date (e.g., 12/31/2024) to define the aging reference point. 
  5. Select Age Invoices by (choose between Invoice Date or Due Date from the dropdown list). 
  6. Click the Refresh button from the Logicim XLGL tab to update the Report. 
  7. Review the Report: 
  8. Aging summary: Breaks down receivables into categories (0-30, 31-60, 61-90, and Over 90 Days). 
  9. Customer-level details: View outstanding amounts by customer. 
  10. Charts for Insights: Analyze trends and outstanding receivables visually. 

Customization options 

  1. Adjust the As of date and Age Invoices by based on business needs 
  2. Add conditional formatting to highlight overdue invoices. 

Common use cases 

  1. Monitor overdue invoices. 
  2. Gain insights into cash flow and receivables trends. 
  3. Reconcile outstanding amounts and ensure accurate Reporting. 

Troubleshooting 

  1. Issue: The Report doesn’t update after changing parameters in the Instructions sheet. 
  2. Solution: Ensure you are connected to your Sage data > Connect tab and have clicked the Refresh button.  

FAQs 

  1. Q: Can I add more customers to the Top 10 chart? 
  2. A: Yes! You can adjust the chart settings to include more or fewer customers. 

Best practices 

Use filters to focus on specific customers or aging periods. Ensure you are connected to your data source. Save a backup before creating significant adjustments to the Report structure.
