Income statement 12 periods 

The Income statement—12 periods summarizes financial performance over the past 12 months. It is perfect for tracking trends, analyzing income and expenses, and understanding profitability over time. 

Prerequisite

  1. Logicim XLGL version 5.0 or higher  
  2. Microsoft Excel 2016 or higher 
  3. Sage 50 US edition (2021 and above)
  4. The period ended parameter must be set correctly in the Instructions sheet. 

What the Report does 

  1. 12-month overview: Displays income and expense data for the last 12 months based on the period entered. 
  2. Rolling periods: Automatically updates columns to reflect data from the previous 12 months. 
  3. Quick analysis: Enables users to compare month-by-month performance and identify trends. 

How to use the Report 

  1. Open the Report workbook. 
  2. Go to the Instructions sheet. 
  3. Enter the desired date in the period ended field. 
  4. Navigate to the Income statement worksheet. 
  5. The columns will automatically populate with data for the 12 months leading up to the end date entered. 
  6. For example, if the period ended is September 30, 2024, columns will show data from October 2023 to September 2024.

  1. Issue: Columns do not update to reflect the correct months. 
  2. Solution: Verify that the period ended date is entered in the correct format. Ensure the formulas reference the parameter cell in the Instructions sheet.
