Purchase Analysis
The Purchase Analysis Report summarizes item quantities and purchase amounts by vendor for the selected purchase-analysis period.
Prerequisites
- Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, or Windows terminal server (2012 and above)
- Microsoft Office 365
- Sage 50 US edition (2021 and above)
- Internet connection
What the Report Does
This Report uses the Instructions worksheet to set a Fiscal Start Date: and calculated As of Date:. The Purchase Analysis worksheet shows purchase details grouped by Vendor ID - Name, with visible fields for Date, Check Number, Item ID - Description, Quantity Purchased, and $ Amount. It also includes filters for Item ID, Item Description, Vendor ID, Vendor Name, and Transaction Type. The Chart worksheet includes Total Quantity Purchased and Monthly Purchase Trend views.
How to Use the Report
Step 1. Enter the starting and end dates in C8 and C9.

Step 2. Click Refresh on the XLGL ribbon to update the Report.

Step 3. Use Go to Report... or open the Purchase Analysis worksheet to review vendor, item, quantity, and amount details.

Step 4. Use Go to Chart... or open the Chart worksheet to review total quantity purchased and the monthly purchase trend.

Customization Options
You can change the Fiscal Start Date: on the Instructions worksheet before refreshing. The Purchase Analysis worksheet also shows report filters for item, vendor, and transaction type. You can use normal Excel formatting, sorting, filtering, or print settings on a saved copy. For additional fields, layout changes, or calculation changes, contact Logicim support.

Troubleshooting
- Issue A: The period is not the period you expected. Solution A: Check the Fiscal Start Date: and calculated As of Date: on the Instructions worksheet, then click Refresh on the XLGL ribbon.
- Issue B: No purchase values appear on the Purchase Analysis worksheet. Solution B: Confirm that you are connected to the correct Sage 50 US company and that the selected period contains purchase activity, then refresh the Report again.
- Issue C: Results appear limited. Solution C: Review the visible filters for Item ID, Item Description, Vendor ID, Vendor Name, and Transaction Type on the Purchase Analysis worksheet.
- Issue D: Workbook links or legacy source references prompt for attention. Solution D: Refresh the Report from the XLGL ribbon while connected to the correct Sage 50 US company. If the prompt continues, contact Logicim support and include the Report name.
