Dashboard Analysis

Dashboard Analysis is the process of reviewing key metrics and visual summaries in a dashboard to quickly understand business performance and trends.

What the Report Does

This Report provides a business performance dashboard that summarizes key financial and operational metrics for a given period. It displays Profit and Loss information, including sales, cost of sales, gross profit, expenses, and net income. It also highlights top-performing and low-performing items, expenses, and customer types using charts and tables. The Report helps users quickly analyze trends, compare actual versus budget values, and identify important insights for decision-making.

How to Use the Report

Step 1: In the Params tab, there is a yellow-highlighted cell where you should enter the start/end date and type of Budget.

Step 2: Click Refresh in the XLGL Ribbon.

Step 3: Review the result:

a) Dashboard

b) Dashboard YTD


Customization Options

  1. You may modify the appearance of every shape in the Report

  1. Business performance tracking – Shows key metrics (sales, revenue, growth) to quickly see if goals are being met.
  2. Operations monitoring – Helps watch real-time activity like system status, traffic, or inventory to catch problems early.
  3. Trend and decision support – Highlights patterns in data to help guide better planning and business decisions.

Troubleshooting

Issue: No data is populated.
Solution: Verify that the input parameters are correct. You may validate in Sage 50 if the customer and reference number is expected to have no value.

FAQs

Q: Can I adjust the layout of the shapes?
A: Yes, you may change the layout if you want. It will not cause a misaligned layout

Best Practices

  1. Save a backup copy of the Report before making significant changes.
  2. Regularly review the Report to track progress and identify trends early.
  3. Customize the Report to focus on key performance indicators relevant to your business.
